Instructions:

  1. In a pan, combine sugar and water to make the syrup. Boil until it reaches one-string consistency.
  2. Mix khoya, all-purpose flour, and baking powder to form a dough.
  3. Shape the dough into small balls.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls until golden brown.
  5. Soak the fried balls in the sugar syrup for a few hours before serving.

2. Rasgulla

Rasgulla is another popular Bengali sweet that is soft, spongy, and soaked in flavored syrup.

  • Ingredients: 1 liter full-fat milk, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 4 cups water.
